Chicken Avocado Burger Recipe - A Healthy Option
Cindy made these burgers for us and it made me rethink “normal” burgers because I loved them so much. It’s kind of like how I will never eat a regular taco again after having cheese shells. Cindy used the T-fal, Nonstick Square Griddle on top of an electric stove top. It worked really well in cooking these lovely burgers.
Below are the ingredients to put this together and the instructions.
This recipe makes 4 servings
For the program we coach for this would apply to:
1 Leaner, 1 Healthy Fat, ¼ Green, 3 Condiments
Here are the ingredients
36oz. (weighed raw) ground chicken breast
¼ cup diced onion
1 tsp mustard powder
½ chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp salt
`½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp cumin
½ cup of shredded zucchini
Combine all the ingredients into a mixing bowl EXCEPT the avocado.
After you have all the ingredients mixed into the ground chicken, gently stir in the avocado.
Use your hand to form 4 patties from what you just mixed in the bowl
Grill over a medium high heat for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side of the patties. Be sure that the burgers reach a temperature of 165 degrees. Or just make sure they are cooked through.
Now add a small salad with it along with a pickle wedge and maybe some of the Walden Farms Thousand Island Dressing and you will be good to go.
Eating healthy doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice taste. This is a healthy recipe where you won’t feel like you are missing something and also keeps portions in check as well.
